How Your Aligners Journey Works
Clear aligners work the same way traditional braces do — by applying gentle, carefully controlled forces to move your teeth into a better position. But instead of metal, they use clear, flexible plastic.
Here's how we plan it out together:
- Digital Planning: Specialized computer software helps us design a precise plan for moving your teeth from their current spot into their best possible alignment.
- Custom Trays: This movement is broken down into a series of stages. For each stage, a lab creates two custom plastic trays — one for your top teeth and one for your bottom.
- Wearing Your Trays: For the best results, you need to wear your aligners for about 22 hours per day. You’ll move into your next set of trays every 7 to 14 days, depending on your personal treatment plan.
- Gradual Movement: Each new set of aligners in the series accomplishes the next small step of movement, continuing until your teeth are perfectly aligned.

The Edney's team is always very timely. We normally visit the Columbus office on Tue. Both of my children did not have to wait long at all to be seen. Dr Edney is very good and has great approaches to make sure all teeth will be worked into the right place giving a great smile. My son's teeth look amazing already.
