For over 25 years, Dr. Steve Edney has been creating beautiful smiles right here in our community. He was actually born and raised in Tryon, North Carolina, and went to Polk County Schools, so he really is a local!
Dr. Edney pursued his education at the University of Tennessee, then went on to receive his D.D.S. and an M.S. Degree in Orthodontics from Loma Linda School of Dentistry in California.
His passion for helping people led him to serve as a mission dentist for seven years in the islands of Guam and Micronesia, providing care to communities that truly needed it. Talk about dedication! After that incredible experience, he knew it was time to come home to North Carolina.
He stays connected and up-to-date by being an active member of the Hendersonville Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontics, and the North Carolina Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Edney brings the same passion and dedication to his patients that he experiences in his outdoor pursuits. He really loves adventure! Outside of the office, you might find him traveling, camping, canoeing, scuba diving, or hiking.
His favorite memories include hiking Machu Picchu in Peru, yearly family trips to Turks and Caicos, and going on safari in South Africa with his father, "Daddy Edney". Recently in 2025, he completed an unforgettable 7-day, 250-mile independent cycling tour through Italy.
Among all of life’s adventures, nothing brings Dr. Edney more pride and joy than his role as a father. His two beautiful daughters, Lacy and Starla, remain the center of his world and are the inspiration behind everything he does. Whether they’re on a family vacation or just sharing everyday moments, they are what truly matters.
That deep care he has for his family is the same care he brings to our practice, ensuring that each smile he creates is a reflection of his commitment to excellence.

Our son got his braces today, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Beth was absolutely amazing. She joked around with our son, made sure he was comfortable throughout the entire appointment, and was so sweet and patient with our daughter, who was very curious about her big brother getting braces. She even let our daughter be a little helper and hold the suction tool! Dr. Edney was wonderful as well. He took the time to answer all of our questions and even made sure our son received a mouth guard for football. We are a fourth generation family getting our braces with Dr. Edney! Hands down, the #1 place to go for orthodontic care! We couldn’t recommend them more! ❤️
We’ve had such a great experience here! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the office is clean and well organized, and there’s little to no wait time at our appointments. Everything runs smoothly and efficiently, and my daughter always feels comfortable and well cared for. Highly recommend!
