Our Doctor

Dr. Steven Edney has been creating beautiful smiles for over 25 years.  Born and raised in Tryon, North Carolina, he attended Polk County Schools and later pursued his education at the University of Tennesse.  He went on to receive his D.D.S and his M.S. Degree in Orthodontics from Loma Linda School of Dentistry, California.  After completing his studies, Dr. Edney served as a mission dentist in the Islands of Guam and Micronesia for seven years, providing care to underserved communities, before returning home to North Carolina. Dr. Edney is a member of the Hendersonville Dental Society.  In addition to this, he is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the North Carolina Association of Orthodontists.   

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Edney loves to embrace adventure.  He enjoys traveling, camping, canoeing, scuba diving, and hiking.  Some of his favorite memories include hiking Machu Picchu in Peru, yearly family trips to Turks and Caicos, and a safari to South Africa with his father, “Daddy Edney.”  His most recent adventure in 2025 was a 7-day, 250-mile independent cycling tour from Parma to Siena, Italy; it was an unforgettable journey.  Dr. Edney brings the same passion and dedication to his patients that he experiences in his outdoor pursuits, ensuring that each smile he creates is a reflection of his commitment to excellence.  Among all of life’s adventures, nothing brings Dr. Edney more pride and joy than his role as a father. He cherishes spending time with his two beautiful daughters, Lacy and Starla.  Whether on a family vacation or sharing everyday moments, they remain the center of his world and the inspiration behind everything he does.
